I can’t help but diffuse the suspense of this scene with thinking this could all be cleared up if the woman would just look at John’s ID. I mean, she has his wallet RIGHT THERE in her hand and she’s rifling through it, why not just LOOK AT HIS PHOTO ID AND CLEAR THE MESS RIGHT UP

This draw lottery just lost all of my suspense. I don’t know if they intended for the audience to pick it up as soon as the chairman showed the winning lot or not, but it’s. Very obviously folded.
I think they definitely intended for the audience to suspect him of cheating somehow showing that shot of the chairman’s hand lingering when they put the winning lot in the box at the start, but seeing it’s folded really loses a lot of the drama in Kaiji’s losing and cheapens his grievance over the idea of losing his fingers, I think.
Man, I have intelligent thoughts and reactions here and make a bunch of silly macros for my main tumblr. I wonder if the Kaiji fandom’s sick of me yet.
